LOCATION
Bairnsdale is situated along the banks of the magnificent Mitchell River, 285 kms east of Melbourne of the Princess Highway. As the Gateway to Gippsland lakes beaches and rivers, mountains, snow fields and Far-East Gippsland, Bairnsdale is an ideal base from which to explore the diverse rang of attractions available in thus area.
Bairnsdale is the commercial and retail hub of the region and is East Gippsland's largest town with a population of approx 12,000. Situated on the Mitchell River, Bairnsdale is an easy three hour drive from Melbourne on the Princess Highway. A regional service centre with excellent education, quality recreational facilities and health services, Bairnsdale is surrounded by a wide range farming enterprises.
